An In Depth Look at Friendships

friendship

COURTESY OF GUEST BLOGGER: Nic East, Jim Thorpe Artist & Co-Owner of Hill Home Forge B&B www.niceastdesign.com

In our Human social culture almost all of us tend to interact. A big part of our socialization consists of friendly relationships. Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people. Friendship is based upon trust.

Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an simple association, which is thought to be more “arms length” or businesslike. Friendship has been studied in academic fields such as sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy.  Many academic theories of friendship have been proposed, including social exchange theory, equity (transactional) theory, relational dialectics, and attachment styles such as infatuation. Get Ready for a Summer Adventure on the Lehigh River

sojourn  sojourn2

COURTESY OF GUEST BLOGGER, GARY BLOCKUS.

CLICK HERE to learn more about the Lehigh River Sojourn.

For the first time in about 10 years, the Lehigh River Sojourn will wind its way through the heart of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton.

The 20th Annual Lehigh River Sojourn, scheduled for June 25-29, will truly be a celebration of the Lehigh Valley and the river that runs through it.

To appropriately commemorate the 20th anniversary of the on-the-water journey that raises awareness about the Lehigh River and its connection to the people, landscape, ecology and economy of the Lehigh Valley, the sojourn has been expanded from its most recent three-day trip to a five-day extravaganza that reincorporates the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton portion of the canoe and kayak voyage.
