Welcome to Weatherly

Located 12 miles northwest of Jim Thorpe and 28 miles northwest of Allentown, Weatherly featured silk mills, foundries, a candy factory, a fabricating plant, and a cigar factory early in the twentieth century. Originally called Black Creek, it received a name change to Weatherly in 1848. Clock-maker David Weatherly, also an executive of the Beaver Meadow Railroad, made an agreement with the town that he would build them a clock if they renamed the town Weatherly.

Weatherly Area High School received funding for the Classrooms For the Future grant during year 2 of the competitive grant. Weatherly Area High joins more than 300 other school districts throughout the commonwealth as a grant recipient. Classrooms will be outfitted with laptops, LCD projectors, electronic whiteboards, digital cameras, and digital camcorders. Professional development activities are included is also included for faculty.
